HydroComplete Pro · Press Kit

Media resources, boilerplate, founder bio, and downloadable assets for journalists and industry writers covering civil engineering software.

One-liner

HydroComplete Pro is a browser-based stormwater engineering platform that replaces $5,000 desktop licenses with a $99-a-month SaaS, and shows the math behind every calculation.

Company Boilerplate

HydroComplete Pro is a web-based stormwater and hydrology engineering platform built for practicing civil engineers. Founded by Michael Flynn, PE, a practicing dam and stormwater engineer, the product combines four calculation engines (SEDCAD4, IDEAL, Hydraflow, and a Conveyance engine) with live USDA soils data and full formula transparency. HydroComplete Pro launched commercially on April 7, 2026 at hydrocomplete.com.

Founder Bio

Michael Flynn is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a background in dam safety and stormwater engineering at McGill Associates, a North Carolina civil engineering firm. His day-to-day work on dam EAPs, SWPPP designs, and sediment control plans exposed him to the limitations of existing stormwater software - desktop-only, Windows-only, closed formulas, and perpetual license fees in the thousands.

He built HydroComplete Pro because the tools practicing engineers actually rely on have not meaningfully evolved since the 1990s. The product reflects that hands-on perspective: every calculation engine is implemented from published formulas, every result shows its substitution step, and every BMP in the library is something Flynn has seen specified on a real site plan.

Product Description (Short)

~50 words

HydroComplete Pro is a browser-based stormwater engineering platform with four calculation engines - RUSLE/MUSLE sediment modeling, IDEAL BMP treatment, SCS hydrograph routing, and Manning's conveyance design. It integrates live USDA soils data, renders every formula with KaTeX, and runs anywhere a browser does. Monthly subscription, no install.

Product Description (Long)

~200 words

HydroComplete Pro is a web-based engineering platform that consolidates the core stormwater workflow - watershed delineation, soil-loss modeling, BMP sizing, hydrograph generation, reservoir routing, and conveyance design - into a single subscription product. Four independent calculation engines power the software: SEDCAD4Engine implements RUSLE and MUSLE for sediment basins and traps, IDEALEngine covers fifteen BMP types with water-quality-volume, buildup, and washoff math, HydraflowEngine runs SCS Unit Hydrographs and Modified Puls reservoir routing, and ConveyanceEngine sizes fourteen conveyance types using Manning's equation and HGL analysis.

Every calculation is rendered through KaTeX with the formula, the substitution, and the numeric result visible side by side, so engineers, reviewers, and regulators can see exactly what the software did. A live integration with the USDA Web Soil Survey pulls SSURGO data - hydrologic soil group, texture, K-factor, organic matter - by latitude and longitude and feeds it directly into RUSLE and trap-efficiency calculations. The product runs in any modern browser, stores projects in the cloud, and ships with a mobile companion, a sealable report generator, and a treatment-train node-editor built on GoJS. HydroComplete Pro is built and maintained by a practicing Professional Engineer.
